Labels on Sheets – What Is that?
As the name suggests, these labels are printed on a sheet and are the counterpart to classic roll labels. Printing on a sheet instead of a roll can be particularly worthwhile for short runs. Labels on sheets are suitable for manual application as they can simply be peeled off the backing material and stuck directly onto the product. Sheet labels are not suitable for machine processing.
A4 or A4+: What's the Difference?
Until now, label.co.uk has always produced labels on sheets in A4 format. Recently, however, we have also started producing sheet labels in A4+ format. This means that the sheets on which your labels are printed are slightly larger than A4.
The reason we decided to do this is simple: efficiency. Depending on the format of your labels, we can use sheets with the new dimensions much more efficiently than before! This results in less waste and makes our label production even more environmentally friendly.
Depending on the order details, the format supplied may vary – unfortunately, it is not possible to make an exact allocation in advance. However, both variants offer the same high quality and can be processed without any problems. So no matter which format you receive, you can always rely on precise printing and reliable adhesion.
In 5 Steps to the Perfect Labels on Sheets!
Are you currently developing a product and have now reached the packaging design stage? The right label is a decisive factor at the point of sale. That’s why you should choose your labels on sheets with care. There are several aspects that need to be considered. We can help you with this!
We have therefore summarized 5 steps for you to ensure that the planning and implementation of product labels runs smoothly:
First determine the packaging and label shape: You should have already decided on a container or packaging method. Now you can familiarise yourself with the label applications and select a shape to match the packaging, according to your own ideas.
Select the material: In a second step, you decide on the material and should consider the purpose of your product. At label.co.uk you will find a large selection of papers and films. If you have any questions regarding the right choice of material, we will be happy to help.
Design AND brand identity: Your labels on sheets should reflect the corporate design so that the company values and product characteristics are visualised. Being coherent and keeping some your visual identity is crucial. And our design service has just the right feel for this!
Test first. Then select: Our free sample book allows you to apply materials to your product on a trial basis. You can also have a small quantity of labels produced on sheets on a trial basis under original conditions. Use our printing proof for this.
Pay attention to legal requirements: It is important that your labels on sheets comply with industry-specific regulations. We therefore recommend a legal check before production. This includes, for example, the printing of barcodes on labels.
Front Label, Back Label and Banderole on Sheet
Whether front label, back label or banderole, we have the ideal label type for you. The front label is located on the front of your product and typically includes the logo and product name. The back label, which often contains information about the contents, can be found on the back of the product. A sleeve encloses the entire product.
Which label type is best suited for your labels on sheets depends primarily on the respective product and the packaging. Various factors play an important role here, such as industry, area of application, formal criteria and appearance.
For example, sealing labels are often used for food labels, honey or jam, while champagne bottles are often provided with neck ribbons.
Material and Finishing
At label.co.uk, you can choose between labels on sheets and classic roll labels. In contrast to roll labels, for which you can choose freely from our more than 15 standard materials, the choice of materials for sheet labels is limited. If you are planning to finish your labels, we recommend that you opt for roll labels.
